Welcome to BA Child - Daycare
A safe, welcoming, fun environment providing a cozy ‘home away from home’ for children to learn, grow and thrive in. We teach the interconnectedness of all things and base our curriculum on the wheel of the year calendar, using play led and nature-inspired childcare approaches to prepare children not only for school but modern life. Our customers can expect transparent communication and genuine care when working together towards the individual goals of their unique little treasures.
Why choose us?
We aim to create a space where children can:
Safely ‘Learn’ from the past.
This could be through their own FAIL (First Attempt In Learning), or through the dynamic intergenerational activities they share with senior citizens who have a wealth of life experience that can be passed on and learnt from. This includes etiquette, table manners, cooking, baking, gardening, life experiences or games. (The list is really inexhaustible). This unique experience allows the children to learn with, and from, the senior citizens and to experience lifes cycles to the full.
Nurture today.
Using a combination of play based learning, forest school sessions, and intergenerational care we look to nurture more than knowledge-gathering learning. Instead, we offer a holistic opportunity for growth helping to develop, social and emotional skills, spirituality, language and literacy, imagination and creativity, fine and gross motor skills, confidence and positive attitudes towards learning.
Prepare for tomorrow.
Current studies show increased time on technology alongside a decrease in human socialising has led to an increase in social and emotional health issues. We aim to teach moderation. As children still need to be tech savvy to get by in a highly computerised future, but they also need to be given the tools they need help to them be healthy, resilient, creative, independent thinkers of the future.
Enjoy the present.
According to a study at Harvard University about 47% of our waking hours are spent thinking about what isn’t going on and this wondering mind typically makes us unhappy. Mindfulness is the ability to be fully present in the moment. We aim to teach techniques through Yoga, meditation, reflective breathing, gratitude rituals, music and art expression to notice what’s happening in the present moment, without judgement. Regularly practising mindfulness will help with focus concentration and self-regulation.
